The Erin Bardwell Collective, The Beehive, Prospect Hill, Old Town, Swindon

For something completely different - if you managed to squeeze into the packed pub came The Erin Bardwell Collective.

Erin has been promising us an album of his own songs for years and finally "Volume One" is now on release and was it worth the wait? You bet!

Playing many of the songs from the CD, including my favourites Happiness and Africa, were a troupe of Erin's pals.

The collective included Recoldo Fleming, alias Carlos, on lead vocals making the girls weak at the knees with his toe-curling voice and Matty Bane bringing the pub to explosion point with his volcanic drum solo.

Erin's songs conjure up the sunny, happy sounds of the Carribbean. Bright, bouncy and irresistible when it comes to moving and a-grooving this collective mixed Erin's and Recoldo's music with a couple of old reggae classics such as Jesse James.

The enthralled crowd were almost at fever pitch by their closing number.
